First solids!

On Saturday, Brosnan ate his first 'solid' food. We tried rice cereal last weekend and that was not a success. Can you blame him? Who wants to eat re-hydrated rice? It doesn't have much flavor before its freeze dried, I doubt it tastes much better afterwards! We started with bananas. He made a funny face during his first bite, but by his second bite he was rooting because he was so excited to be fed more! We also tried sweet potatoes, which he really liked! Next we will try peas - we will see if he likes veggies!
Brosnan also got to meet his Grandma and Grandpa Bedow this weekend. Grandpa Rick put him on his shoulders. As you can tell, I don't think he quite knew what to think!

Another first for Brosnan this week....he got his first junk mail. I don't even know what I could have put his name on to sign him up for that! Could some one please create a 'do not mail' list!?!?!?

Week 18

Brosnan's first few days at school went well. He is laid back like his Dad and starting school was like water off a ducks back. We are very proud of him! One of his teachers did say that Brosnan "has a strong voice in our choir", but anyone who has been around him when he doesn't want to go to sleep knows that! He just doesn't want to miss out on any fun!

This weekend we went down to the Riverside Art Market. There were art, veggie and food vendors set up under the Fuller Warren bridge. Between the temperature and the shade that the bridge afforded us, the weather was perfect!

Now that Brosnan is proficient in rolling over, his favorite way to sleep is on his side (much like both of his parents).

Follow-up to First day of School

Brosnan's first few days at school went well. He is laid back like his Dad and starting school was like water off a ducks back. We are very proud of him! One of his teachers did say that Brosnan "has a strong voice in our choir", but anyone who has been around him when he doesn't want to go to sleep knows that! He just doesn't want to miss out on any fun!
Mommy took the opportunity to go to the beach after she finished all of her Cinderella choirs :). She had a bag similar to Brosnan's 'first day of school' bag. This is the smallest beach bag Mommy will have for the next ten years!

First day of school!

Dad and I dropped Brosnan off at T's Learning Center this morning. It is a great daycare and we are so glad his is going there, but Mommy is still having a hard time today! This was a big week of firsts, he also had 'solids' for the first time in the form of rice cereal in his bottle. That was followed by his first time sleeping through the night for the first time!
We dressed him in the Brosnan shirt that Aunt Annie gave him so that everyone could learn his name. He was very excited as he looked around at all the toys! He is going to meet so many people and learn so much!
I felt like I was packing his belongings to send him off to college as I got his bag together! I am sure that will happen before we know it too!

First trip to the zoo!

Brosnan's first trip to the zoo was this morning and the weather was perfect! Mac had been there one before, so he showed us around. Of course, we couldn't miss the giraffes. We will get a picture with them a bit closer before the season is over!
Brosnan looked like a little fisherman with his new hat on! Thank you Bicklers!

Week 17

Now that Brosnan can roll over and move around, he practices all the time. Even in the middle of the night! When we put him to bed...
his head was at this end of the crib, and look where he ended up!!

We had PJ Friday this week. We did everything in our PJs all day long, even visited day care! :)
Brosnan did his first 5K this weekend to help raise money for the MS Society! Here is a picture of him and his Daddy crossing the finish line!

This week with Brosnan...

We are trying to make the most out of our last full week together. We have laughed and sang and read and played and learned and grown (well, hopefully only one of us :) and created and napped together. He seems so grown up to me this week. Slow down Brosnan, there is no hurry!

Yesterday was the first time that we got down on the sand when we visited the beach. Mom remembered to bring a blanket but did not appreciate the importance of good shade until we were hiding behind the strollers. Next time she will be better prepared!

Mac (I wish that you could see how blue Mac's eyes are with this shirt on!) and Brosnan on Neptune Beach
Brosnan's first board shorts! He even looks like he is catching a wave!
Brosnan's recent milestones:
  • consistently rolls over in both directions from his back
  • rolls over from front to back occasionally
  • finally enjoys tummy time!
  • scoots across the bed on his tummy
  • sleeps in his own room
  • puts his pacifier in his mouth (with the correct orientation!)
  • moves objects from one hand to another

Disney on Ice

Last night we went to see Disney on Ice with Stevie (7 months) and Isabelle (3 months) and their parents. Stevie was doing his best to help Brosnan and Isabelle to sit up straight, but in the end gravity won!
Brosnan watched the first half of the show and seemed interested, but intermission got the best of all of the kids!

By the time the second half started, Brosnan was asleep, Isabelle was tired and Stevie lost interest. The parents seemed to enjoy themselves though!

Visit with Aunt Amanda

Brosnan is very lucky to have Amanda in his life. He will learn so much from her!
Maybe she will teach him how to be an Ironman!
She has already helped him with tummy time...
Showed him how to grade papers...
Let him 'hang out" with her...
But now, who is in charge here? :)

Johnny Jump Up

Brosnan has his first Johnny Jump Up experience yesterday. There wasn't much jumping going on, but he seemed content to dangle there looking like a head with legs!
What a cutie petutie!

Happy Birthday Aunt Amanda!

We are so glad to have Amanda here for the week! Brosnan must be pretty special to get to spend a week of spring break with a grad student!

A lady in the mix!

We were delighted to have Mary and her mom, Luce met us at the Towncenter for our outing this week! These boys are going to need someone with a little estrogen to help keep them in check!

Mary has some great hair that makes the boys jealous!

Thomas the Train

Although he might be a bit young to show any real interest in the trains, assembly gave me something to talk about so we stayed entertained for about an hour! Great present Lane Grandparents!

You are My Sunshine

A rainy day in Jax....At this point, I hope that anyone that doesn't already know I am a dork has stopped following the blog....here is Brosnan's newest song, sung to the tune of,"You are my Sunshine".

Brosnan is my sunshine
My special sunshine
He makes me happy
When skies are grey.
He'll always know
How much I love him
Because I'll tell him every single day.

Clemson Fan

It has been a rainy day in Jacksonville and we are trying not to get cabin fever! Brosnan was really showing his school sprit this morning in has Clemson gear! I love this guy!

(Disclaimer for Chris: I know this is really obnoxious! Thanks for loving me anyways!)
